Embretsen describes how he first met Stokowski in engaging him to conduct at the Bergen International Festival of Music, Drama and Folklore and particularly focusing on Stokowski's conducting of Valen's Cemetery by the Sea and his celebrity status while in Bergen; he also discusses Stokowski's participation in an all-Norwegian concert at Carnegie Hall and Stokowski's relationship with the Norwegian conductor on the program, Øivin Fjeldstad He mentions Dmitri Mitropoulos, Greta Garbo, Andrew Schulhof, Jim Fassett, and Gloria Vanderbilt.
